Pair of embroidered hanging panels worked in fine wool and silk on a canvas ground. With a design of three oval panels, one above the other, each containing two or three figures in 18th century costume. The remainder of the field is filled with fruit and foliage and, above each panel at either side, is a bird. Beneath the central panel of each picture is a small coronet flanked on either side by a reclining figure. The stomachers in the top panel and the coronets in each frame have been applied.

In colours of red, green, yellow, white, dark brown and fawn on a dark blue-green ground. Embroidered entirely in long and short stitches with a finer treatment for features and detail. With French knots and outline stitch.
