label printed in red, green and black to show the trademark of Amanda Jane, a girl with a parasol; and MADE BY THE ROYAL SOVEREIGN PENCIL CO FOR AMANDA JANE MADE IN ENGLAND; together with a pencil shape.
6. box base; card covered with green paper; one end has been cut so the base will fold back to reveal the pencils without opening the box fully.
The Amanda Jane Company; was founded in 1952 making accessories for dolls rather than the dolls themselves. The company supplied leading stores including Harrods, Hamleys and Selfridges. The first dolls were produced in 1958. Company is still in business.
