Petticoat made of white linen and cotton. With a low round neck, stomacher bands and a front fall which fastens with a thread covered button at each shoulder, and trimmed at the top with a band of Bedfordshire lace. The sleeves are short and straight. The skirt is fairly tightly gathered at the back, and less so in the front where it is attached to tying strings and the front fall. The waist has been lengthened at the back by inserting a 1.5 inch band of linen and in the front, possibly, with the insertion of an additional tape band. Rows of narrow tucks are stitched from knee to ankle. The bodice is of linen, the sleeves of cotton and the skirt of white muslin.
