Ready-made Shoes (Object No. 10)
The mid 18th century saw the growth of the modern shoe shop and the market for ready-made shoes. This pair of shoes was sold by Gresham in Covent Garden. The shop was comparable to a high-end high-street shop today. The shoes retain the original brand label, which is the oldest shoe label in the V&A’s collection.
