The bodice was donated by Miss Juliet & Messrs G.F. & A.L. Reckitt. They are descendants of Isaac Reckitt, who set up a company in 1840 selling laundry products. Today, the company is called Reckitt & Colman.

The bodice was displayed in the Costume Court 1962 to 1979.
