Pair of men's rough blue suede shoes with lace up fronts and moulded plastic soles. The sole and heel are continuous with the sole being thicker than the heel. The maximum thickness of the sole is 0.75 inches (2 cm) and the heel 0.5 inch (10 mm). The design of the uppers has been influenced by running shoes and they have a padded band around the ankle and a thickly padded tongue. The facings which also take the five pairs of eyelets for the laces continue to the toe cap. The sides of the uppers are decorated with three regularly-spaced lines of holes. The laces are of navy blue cotton with plastic protectors on the ends.
The insides are unlined and the insole is of leather. Stamped on the inside heel is the Roots trademark. The ridged sole is impressed with the trademark set within a semi-circle showing a beaver, roots, and made in Canada.
