A pair of men's socks. They are calf length and machine knitted in stocking stitch, without seams in cream two play wool, fashioned at the toe and heel. The tops are five and a half deep knitted in a one and one rib, with a double welt to the top edge. A woven label in dark brown and buff silk is stitched to the inside of each sock. Shop tickets and a card of matching daring wool are sewn or clipped through both socks. The shop ticket clipped through both socks is handwritten in ink with the shop code and in pencil with the price. Stuck to the card of daring wool which is sewn on, is another ticket printed in red.
