Woman’s petticoat of pale blue and pink shot and watered silk taffeta, figured in a design of trailing flowers.

It has been altered, probably for fancy dress or a studio prop in the late 19th century. There were probably at least 5 widths of silk originally; some were removed, leaving 3 widths and 1 pieced panel. The original waistband and ties have been removed, the pleats reset and a new waistband added.
