Evening dress made of hand-woven rayon and silk. Short, sleeveless, low waisted, V-necked gown. The V-neck has a weighted modesty piece of red velvet overlaid with gold gilt lace, and another strip of this combination details the upward curve of the waist. The petalled skirt consists of a single woven square, with the bodice attached to the area cut out of the centre allowing the skirt to fall on the cross. The fabric is a vertical waved twill, and with gold rayon on a red silk warp. The hem is brocaded with leading orange flames. Lined in apricot satin. The back neck has a yellow silk embroidered label 'Calimala, London' on cream satin.
