Evening bag with gilt thread embroidery, taffeta purse and mirror.
Bag with gussets, in white and gold brocade with an abstract pattern of various foliate and rayed motifs with decorative infills. The design is carried out in a range of couched down gold gilt threads and wire coil. The bag has an edging of metal thread crochet which attaches it to a clasp and half-frame of gold coloured base metal, with incised decoration. It opens by pushing a metal floret on the top and pulling the side elements - a smaller floret and a handle of white and gold brocade.
