Pendant

1994 (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

This pendant along with three others were displayed as part of ensembles in the exhibition Streetstyle, From Sidewalk to Catwalk, 1940 to Tomorrow, held at the V&A in 1994-1995. Made in 1994 by designer Stephen King, who produces jewellery under the label S-Tek, they reflect the D.I.Y. jewellery fad that gained much popularity in the 1970s. By incorporating raw materials like leather and natural shapes like the arrowhead, this piece makes a smooth transition from 1970s hippy to 1990s grunge.
