The American Robert Willson returns annually to Murano to work with Italian glasshouses. He has collaborated most frequently with Alfredo Barbini in making sculptural glass, but has also worked with Ermanno and Aldo Toso, of Fratelli Toso, and many others. Willson is also a water colourist, a sculptor who works in enamels and with reduction glazed porcelain. In Venice he works closely with the glass teams, directing the modelling of, and the inclusion of colours within the molten glass.
