Historical context | The Royal Porcelain Manufactory in Berlin adopted art nouveau relatively late, but it made an outstanding display of pieces in this manner at the 1900 exhibition. Many were highly sculptural, as the factory had developed a semi-soft porcelain body which could be modelled as easily as clay and which took glazes particularly well. |
