This bronze medal was struck to commemorate the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Battle of Monte Cassino. It was fought by the allies during the Second World War with the intention of seizing Rome. The reverse side of the medal depicts the Order of the Cross surrounded by four coats of arms.

Physical description
Medal, bronze. Obverse side, depicts the destroyed abbey of Monte Cassino and two crossed swords and the dates 1944- 1969 encircled by an inscription. The reverse side shows the Irder if the Cross surrounded by four coats of arms, the emblem of the City of Warsaw on top and beneath the three insignia of the 2nd Polish corps with an inscription.
