This medal depicting King Albert of Belgium, is made by Pierre Theunis, in Belgium in 1914.
Theunis (1885-1950) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, where he studied under the sculptor Thomas Jules Vincotte (1850-1925) professor at the academies in both Antwerp and Brussels. Following his studies he worked as a sculptor of figurative and allegorical works in bronze and marble. He was additionally working in relief producing commemorative medals.
