This panel is the work of a specialist in this form of inlay. The mother of pearl was imported from the Dutch colonies. Van Rijwijck's earliest work is a panel in Dresden, dated 1654. There are table-tops in the Neues Palais, Postdam, and the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.

Physical description | Two panels, slate inlaid with mother of pearl. A bunch of flowers is set in a two-handled vase, engraved with a parrot amongst fruit and foliage. Above, there are two butterflies, below on the left a large parrot on the right a snail. |
