Relief
ca. 1683 (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

This relief may have formed part of the memorial erected in about 1683 to the canon Etienne de Rossius de Liboy, which was formerly in the collegiate church at Huy in the Netherlands. A terracotta model by Jean del Cour (1627-1707), now in the Museé des Beaux-Arts, Liège, shows a closely similar composition, and could have been the model for the present piece.
This kneeling Ecclesiastic might perhaps represent Etienne de Rossius de Liboy (d. 1683)
