This figure representing Diana, together with related figures A. 9, 10 and 11-1947, was presented to the museum by Lord Wimbourne when he left Wimbourne House in Arlington Street, London, where the four statues had been displayed in niches in the dining room. They had been bought from A. Strom at 23, Rue Saint-Lazare, Paris, in 1919, where they had been attributed to the French sculptor, René Frémin (1672-1744), but there seemed to be no information about provenance.

Physical description
Stone figure of Diana. The goddess is shown striding forward. She looks to the right. Her right hand holds her dress at the side; her left, bent at the elbow. rests on the her unstrung bow. A greyhound jumps up at her left side. She wears a three quarter length dress with the right breast exposed. The figure is set on a base of grass with tree trunk support.
