This small historicising bust of King Charles XII of Sweden (1682-1718; r. 1697-1718) may have been part of a larger series of monarchs of Sweden; the bust of Queen Christina of Sweden (A.7-1928) currently forms a pair with it. The image may be based on a painting or engraving, their style implying a nineteenth-century date.

Charles XII faces forwards wearing a jacket. The front of the socle is inscribed. It is on a tall circular turned ivory socle.
