Object history | This is one of a collection of designs given to the Theatre Museum by the designer, Cynthia Tingey, who created costumes for musicals, cabaret and pantomime, including 15 of the annual London Palladium pantomimes. This design was made for the musical, Bye Bye Birdie, by Charles Strouse (music), Lee Adams (lyrics) and Michael Stewart (book), staged at Her Majesty's Theatre, 15 June 1961. This was a recreation of the New York production, originally directed and choreographed by Gower Champion. Chita Rivera played Rose Grant. |
