This medal commemorates the Great Exhibition of 1851. On on side there is a view of the exhibition building and the inscription 'Crystal Palace' and 'For the Great Exhibition in London of 1851.' On the reverse side there are portraits, in profile of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.

This medal was produced by Allen and Moore in Birmingham and is perhaps their best known work.

On one side a view of the exhibition building signed 'ALLEN & MOORE BIRM' with 'THE CRYSTAL PALACE' above and 'FOR THE GREAT EXHIBITION IN LONDON OF 1851' below. On the reverse profile portrait heads of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert signed 'A&M' with inscription 'H.M.C.M. QUEEN VICTORIA AND H.R.H. PRINCE ALBERT.' Slightly bent with a hole pierced at the top.
