Console Table, ITALIAN 16th century
Walnut Wood. Each bracket is carved in relief on both sides with a wing, acanthus leaves, and scrolls, within a border composed of small discs lying on one another and united by a string. In front of each is a mask with a long neck. From the wings on either side, a bunch of leaves and acorns hang by a ribbon. Each bracket rests on a claw foot, with a plain moulded plinth. There are two supports in front with carved end for drawing out.
