The cup has a large, deep flaring bowl on a short, straight foot-rim and with a loop handle. The broad saucer has a shallow upcurved edge and central declivity. White ground, decorated in underglaze royal blue and orange-red with heavy gilded highlights in a version of Imari pattern. Marks: "Davenport, Longport Staffordshire" beneath a royal crown in overglaze red.
