Jug of porcelain, painted in enamels and gilt in the style of Japanese Imari ware. Nearly cylindrical body, sloping shoulder, cylindrical neck with projecting lip and loop handle; the body is moulded with wide curved reeding. The jug is divided round the body and neck into eight vertical panels, four with red and white rosettes and gilt diaper decoration on a dark blue ground and, alternately with these, four with chrysanthemums on a white ground. A floral band decorates the shoulder and rim.
