Portion of a jug of buff earthenware, modelled in the form of a lady in a costume of the period and splashed with blue, manganese-purple and yellow-coloured glazes. The lady is wearing a low-necked dress and a wide skirt which forms the body of the jug, also a large lace collar and a cap ending downwards in points on either side of the head. A short spout springs from the front of the body.

Jug, fragmentary, buff earthenware with a spout in the form of a woman. Decorated with coloured glazes. French, La Chapelle des Pots, near Saintes, early 17th century.

Portion of a jug of buff earthenware, modelled in the form of a lady in a costume of the period and splashed with blue, manganese-purple and yellow-coloured glazes.
