Object history | Cantagalli made a group of ceramics to contemporary designs for the international exhibition, Paris, 1900. This example is of that type. Historical significance: In 1878 Ulisse Cantagalli inherited a factory in Florence and began to trade as Manifattura Figli di Giuseppe Cantagalli. His main production was of copies of Italian maiolica, but also of other European and Middle Eastern ceramics. In 1900 he made a group of ceramics to new, contemporary designs specifically fior the international exhibition held in Paris in 1900. This example is of that type. |
