Object history | This range of Carrie and Christopher twin doll comes with prototypes, pre production models and samples together with sample clothing. The code number for this model of sundress was P938. Sample dolls wearing the dress were supplied in a small card box stamped: DESC. 6" CARRIE DOLL // MAT. CODE NO. D938 // OTY. 50 PCS // MADE IN HONG KONG. The dolls were then packaged in England Historical significance: The use of sexed figures is quite rare for British dolls, even modern day ones. It is more usual in Europe. |
