Cup and saucer of porcelain, painted in enamels and gilt, partly in the style of Japanese Imari ware; part of the breakfast service ordered by Lord Nelson on his visit to Messrs. Chamberlain's works at Worcester on August 27th, 1802. The cup has a loop handle. Both are divided up into compartments by vertical lines of dark blue. Three contain, respectively, a ducal coronet, a Viscount's coronet and the armorial crest of Lord Nelson. The remaining surfaces are painted with birds, chrysanthemums and other flowers in gold and colours in the style of Japanese Imari ware.
