Oval dish with deep sides and everted rim. The centre of the dish, painted with a star of Bethlehem in shades of green, white, yellow and brown within a frame of gold leaves. The sides and rim of the dish with moulded scrolling decoration reserved in white against a deep underglaze blue ground, all enriched with designs of leaves and flowers painted in gold. Also reserved in white on the side of the dish, a small panel which bears the inscription in Arabic script: 'Amir-al-Hind Nawab Azam Jah Bahadur 1236 Hÿri (1820 A.D.).'
