Panel of stained and painted glass with a standard man and wife armorial, depicting the arms of Hans Wendel Scherer and his wife. Painted by Hans Caspar Gallati. Swiss, dated 1675.
Above are two small compartments - that on the left shows the exterior of two houses, while that on the right shows the inside of a bathhouse with roundels of glass in the windows. In the middle are depicted, in a landscape with a town in the distance, a man carrying a banner, and facing him to the right, a woman holding a flower, back in the costume of the 17th century. This scene is set in an architectural framework with columns, above which in two compartments are represented the scenes described above. In the bottom corners are upright oval panels containing the arms of Hans Wendel Scherer and his wife. Between the panels is the inscription: Lendere Hans Wendel Scherer Fr. Ana Rüödlingerin sein Ehegmabel.
