Blue-green glazed steatite scarab, pierced longitudinally to be suspended on a ring or necklace, today mounted to a wooden block with wire running through the suspension loop. The back has a double line suture and single line separation between prothorax and elytra, and stylised head. The legs are naturalistic and deeply incised, with additional decorative striations indicating hairs.
The decoration on the reverse, oriented vertically, lists the name and titles of the owner, flanked either side by a spiral border. The whole is surrounded by a single line.
