Fan-shaped box consisting of base and cover of equal heights. Moulded and carved from porcellaneous stoneware firing a light grey colour; stepped rim to cover to ensure secure fitting; textile impressions and shallow incising on exterior surface giving a rich background to the low relief carving; flat base. Glaze coverage complete except for base and where base and cover join; clear glaze with bluish tinge and wide crackle, shinier on interior than exterior; underglaze oxide coloration on exterior varying from blackish green to duck-egg blue. 19 + small spur marks on base.
