Jug of soft-paste porcelain transfer-printed in black enamel. Ovoid body and cylindrical neck moulded with overlapping leaves. Projecting lip moulded with a bearded mask. Printed in black with a fox-hunting scene round the body, and on one side of the neck is a hound lying beside a dead stag, and on the other with a hound barking at a boar's head.

Object history | Printed with a hunting scene adapted from a painting entitled 'In Full Chace' by James Seymour, which was engraved by P.C. Canot. This appears to be a late example of printing in black. |
