Oval medallion of white stoneware, with a dark blue dip and white applied relief decoration depicting a classical scene. Three putti or bacchanalian boys process to the right following a hunting hound. A parrot-like bird perches on the hand of the rear putti, who turns to look behind him with his back to us. He holds a boar-spear upright in the other hand . The other two blow curved hunting horns.

Incised on the back 'once dip' and 'N'. (Note from Register 'This medallion was shown to Mr Frederick Rathbone (17.ix.1918), who pronounced it to be a trial piece by Josiah Wedgwood and the inscription on the back to be scratched possibly by his hand'.)
