Artist/Maker | |
Place of origin |
The shape of this flask imitates square glass bottles made in the Netherlands. It was probably part of a set of twelve or sixteen flasks that would have packed into a wooden travelling case for use by agents or staff of the Dutch East India Company (Vereenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie or VOC in Dutch, literally 'United East Indian Company'), which was founded in 1602.
