Saucer of soft-paste porcelain painted in colours in the Kakiemon style. Octagonal in shape and the rim is divided into eight fan-shaped panels. Four of these have the Japanese chrysanthemum in the centre and a quarter of the same in each corner, all in white against a red ground. The four other panels, which alternate with them, are decorated, two with growing flowers and the other two with bunches of blossoming prunus. Within this row of panels is a narrow band containing a floral wreath in white against a red ground. In the centre is a chrysanthemum outlined in red on a white ground with four small green sprays around it.
