Bust of a man, biscuit porcelain. He wears a shirt with an open collar over which is draped a classical-style covering. He is clean-shaven but has side-whiskers. His head is turned quarter to the right. The bust is attached to a shaped circular alabaster base. The paste is dry and granular.

Marks and inscriptions
'by D. Cocker' signed on the reverse (D. Cocker was one of George Cocker's two sons who helped him with his business which was established in 1840 and continued until 1853 when George Cocker returend to the Potteries to work for Herbert Minton.)
Object history
Bought for £30 with C.267-1976, a companion bust of a woman.
