Pilgrim vase of hard-paste porcelain painted with enamels, moulded in relief and gilded. Vase of flattened flask shape with angular handles set on a simulated Chinese wooden stand which is picked out in gilt and dark green and brown enamels. On either side of the body is a moulded design representing stages in the making of porcelain. On one side Chinese figures are seen pouring slip, dripping ware and completing the handles on a vase. On the other side is a painting workshop with figures at work decorating vases and bowls. The scenes are picked out in dark browns, green and gilding, and preserved on a white ground specked with gilt.
