Artist/Maker
Place of origin

The cup has straight, slightly spreading sides, drawn in sharply to a truncated conical foot and a constriction below the lip; loop handle rising above the lip and terminating in a scroll-like lobe.

The decoration consists of a frieze of birds sitting on sprays, the outline being stencilled in reserve on a royal blue ground, and grey enamel being used to pick out details. Below this frieze a formal derived palmette-border in gilding. Round the rim and foot of the cup, the rim of the saucer, a gilt band. The inside and the handle of the cup are completely covered in gilding.
