A hollow round column standing on a hollow plinth, with four clawed feet. Two scroll handles at the top attached by palmettes, and moulded mask with outlet at the bottom. The sides of the plinth pierced with an openwork arcade of interlacing arches, one side open for access to the warming chamber. The column decorated with a large basket of flowers, and butterflies, with on the reverse two large birds perched on a tree. Pink roses on base and cover; moulded features all-over gilt; gilt dentil edges and scroll borders. The body shows a greenish translucency.

Warming urn with cover. The urn of hard-paste porcelain, painted in enamels and gilt, made in Ludwigsburg or Paris; the cover of bone-china, made in Staffordshire; both decorated at the Sims workshop in London; about 1820
