Bottle and stopper of porcelain. Pear-shaped body, long slender neck and baluster-shaped stopper. The body is in two thickness, the outer surface being perforated with a geometrical pattern. The upper part of the body is painted with floral sprays in vertical compartments on a yellow ground, and the perforated portion is outlined in red and gilt. The neck and stopper are also ornamented with gilding.

Object history | Formerly in the Museum of Practical Geology, Jermyn Street, and illustrated in the first published catalogue of the museum in 1855 (fig. 148). Very similar bottle vases were also made by Kerr & Binns and the Royal Worcester Porcelain Co, the successors of the Chamberlain factory. |
