Figure of a girl of biscuit porcelain. She wears a tightly fitting jacket with sleeves rolled to the elbow, a skirt in two layers tied at the hip and a wide-brimmed hat trimmed with ribbons. She stands on a circular base, with a rock-like support. Her left hand is raised, whilst her night holds up her overskirt which is filled with flowers. The base is decorated with a Greek key motif.

Figure of a girl of biscuit porcelain. She wears a tightly fitting jacket with sleeves rolled to the elbow, a skirt in two layers tied at the hip and a wide-brimmed hat trimmed with ribbons. Object history
This figure is a companion to a 'Male with a basket of fruit and flowers', 7.5 inch., listed as No. 54 in the Minton Design Book (see Godden, G. Minton Pottery and porcelain of the First Period, 1793-1850, London, 1968, p. 91. Godden states that the paper of the book is watermarked 1839 but may be a fair copy of earlier drawings.)

An identical figure forming part of a candlestick, enamelled and gilt, was bequeathed to the Museum by Herbert Allen, No. 533A in the catalogue, Pl. 94.
