This vase with a tapered neck is a shape usually referred to as a trumpet vase and is decorated with little bouquets of flowers “al mazzetto” (see cat. 90). It is interesting to note that there were several different versions of this motif: the bouquet on this vase and the trailing vine with tiny leaves is also found on a broth bowl (A. d’Agliano, in LUCCA E LE PORCELLANE 2001, p. 151, cat. 92). The simplicity of the decoration suggests a date between the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century. This type of decoration was probably used for a more ordinary type of production which was intended to satisfy the growing market for complete table services by a wider clientele.
