Floersheim These two figures are copied from18th century models produced by the Doccia factory and based on the Recueil de Cent Estampes Representant Differents Nations du Levant by Charles de Ferriol (see cat. 39). The figure of the Turk was taken from the engraving of the Chatir, ou Valet de pied du Grand Visir (DE FERRIOL 1714, plate 28); the female figure is based on the engraving of a Femme Persienne (DE FERRIOL 1714,plate 91).The figures were attributed to Naples when they were given to the museum.
