Dish of hard-paste porcelain. Shallow bowl shape, gently waved edge. Relief-moulded in French style with partly gilt rococo scrolls forming cartouches, and with blue-washed 'pie crust' ornament at edge. Painted with a view of the Herring Packers Tower at Amsterdam framed by orange and gilt rocaille scrolls and flowers. Manierblumen in cartouches.

Object history | From the 'Holländischen Service' (Stadtholder Service) which may be identified with entries on Kaendler's reports of deliveries to Holland from Summer 1766 to 1767. Pell (the donor) owned numerous pieces from this service which he bequeathed to several American museums. |
Production | Attribution from the manuscript catalogue dates from about 1970 and was compiled by William Hutton of the Toledo Museum of Art, Ohio. |
