Cup and saucer of hard-paste porcelain. Decorated in the style of Sèvres porcelain with dark blue ground (first developed in 1765) with reserves containing pastoral subjects and framed by gilt and engraved flowers, scrolls and rushes. The mottled ground additionally marbled with gilt. Edges bordered with gilt 'sawtooth' ornament.

Physical description
Cup and saucer of hard-paste porcelain. Decorated in the style of Sèvres porcelain with dark blue ground (first developed in 1765) with reserves containing pastoral subjects and framed by gilt and engraved flowers, scrolls and rushes. The mottled ground additionally marbled with gilt. Edges bordered with gilt 'sawtooth' ornament.

  • Crossed swords with a dot between hilts (Factory mark, in underglaze blue)
  • '43' and '65' (Impressed)
