A porcelain manufactory was founded in Nyon, near Lake Geneva, Switzerland, in 1781. Jacques Dortu, a German-born porcelain painter trained at the Royal Porcelain Manufactory at Berlin , and Ferdinand Mueller, who had worked in St. Petersburg. All the raw materials were imported, the kaolin came from Saint-Yrieux, near Limoges, France, and the enamel colours imported from Germany. The wares are known for their whiteness and bright colour palette. The factory closed in 1813.

Physical description | Coffee cup and saucer of hard-paste porcelain painted with enamels and gilded. With borders of bunches of roses in crimson on a gilt dotted ground with continuous bands of rope pattern in black winding between them. Below are slight gilt swags of foliage and sprigs. |
