Paul Scheurich exhibited three plaster models for production in porcelain at the Autumn 1917 exhibition of the Berlin Secession, including figures of Apollo and Daphne. The Meissen porcelain manufactory rejected these models for production, and Scheuruch offered them to KPM Berlin manufactory instead. The first figurs were produced by KPM in February 1918 and they have remained in production ever since.
