White Jasperware flat oval with dark blue dip. Applied white bas-relief decoration, mimicking the effect of a classical carved cameo shell, depicts the classical subject of a muse and a genius. The robed muse faces right playing a lyre on a pedestal. A shield with a profile portrait rests on the base, in front of a winged youth leaning on a long straight trumpet. The front edge of the cameo is bevelled and polished.
