Loving Cup

1904 (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Loving cup, with two handles, pewter. The cup has a round body, becoming narrower as it rises from the base; with a small flaring rim at the top and two large angular handles. The base of the cup is undecorated but above this, the body is decorated with eight vertical tree forms with stylised twisted roots and "honesty" plant seed pods. A plain ribbon cuts across these tree forms at the top where the handle joins the body of the cup, and again where the base of the handle leaves the body.
